Ian Matty

Ian Matty discovered the stock market when he was 13 years old, purchasing 100 shares of Sun Microsystems and learning all about stocks on Prodigy, one of the first ever public web content providers. Ever since then Ian has been immersed in the financial markets. After Ian's trading career he developed educational programs for chess, programming, robotics, 3d design, and design thinking, teaching kids ages 2 - 18 throughout his community. Ian believes that all kids and adults have tremendous creative potential; they just need an opportunity to learn and succeed. Community Yield’s work providing teenagers opportunities to develop financial literacy gives them the knowledge they need to understand money and how to best manage their own finances. When not teaching young people about robots or how money works, Ian loves to watch movies with his family and bicycle with his two kids.
